Frequently Asked Questions

How are the pots made?

The pots are hand thrown on a potter’s wheel and the flat ware is slab rolled and shaped by hand. After throwing, the pots are turned on the wheel if the shape needs it – for example some of the bowls have the foot turned on the wheel once the pot has reached the leather hard stage. The flatware is also shaped and has the botanic impressions made while it is still quite soft. The pots that are decorated are then painted with the oxides. Once bone-dry the pots are now ready for the first firing known as a bisque firing – this reaches temperatures of up to 1000 degrees Celsius. After the kiln has cooled the pots are unpacked and dipped in the liquid glaze in the glazing process. They are now ready for the glaze firing where the pots reach temperature of 1300 degrees Celsius. Now comes the high point in every potters making cycle – the opening of the glaze kiln, to hopefully be rewarded by a kiln full of glorious shiny pots.

How long will my ceramics take to arrive?

We process and pack your order within 3 days, unless it is a backorder (which takes 3-4 weeks) and then use Couriers or Australia Post for tracked shipping. The items usually take 3-5 working days to arrive.

Do you do international orders?

Yes we do. Just contact us and we will get a quote to you for the international shipping costs.

What is your returns policy?

We offer a simple returns policy. If the piece you have received is not what you hoped for, just send it back to us (contact us for correct address). And we will refund you. All we ask is, that you inform us by email within 5 days of receiving the order and return the order within 10 working days of receiving the order. Refunds will not include shipping costs and will only be given if the goods are returned unused and undamaged so we recommend using registered and insured post.

No – you do not need an account to use your credit card with PayPal.

Do the Ceramics need special care?

The pots are made for everyday use, however we do recommend taking extra care in handling and avoiding the following: sudden extreme temperature changes such as placing a cold pot into a hot oven, using the pots in a microwave oven, using sharp objects on the matte glaze (to prevent glaze scratching).
